Eddie Jaku is an extraordinary man. He’s extraordinary not just because he survived the Holocaust, but because of the way he’s lived his life to the fullest and made every opportunity count.
The 101-year old’s book, The Happiest Man on Earth is a must read for everyone no matter what age they are.
Eddie was born in 1920 in Leipzig in Eastern Germany into a large and loving family. The family considered themselves Germans first, Jews second. Things were not easy growing up in Germany as the country had lost the First World War and was going through tough economic times.
Anti-Semitism was growing in Germany and throughout Europe. Things were about to get a lot tougher for Eddie and his family.
I don’t want to spoil this wonderful biography by giving away too many details as it really is something that students and adults should both read.
