Million Dollar Baby is a movie directed by Clint Eastwood, which was released in 2004.

It tells the story of a female boxer who, unemployed, goes on to become one of the best female boxers in the amateur rank.

Maggie (played by Hilary Swank), the boxer, becomes known for her impressive KO’s and builds herself a reputation amongst the amateur division. She wants to go on and fight at a more professional level, however, she gets told by her manager, Frankie (played by Clint Eastwood) that this isn’t the time.

Time passes and her manager finally agrees to give her a fight, which she wins.

She is then offered a fight against the WBA Champion, known to fight dirty. She knocks Maggie out with an illegal punch and Maggie, drops to the ground, hits her head and becomes a quadriplegic.

Maggie cannot bear to live in this condition and she decides she wants to kill herself. She isn’t able to do it on her own, and in looking for Frankie’s help, gets told how stupid this is.

In the end Frankie takes her life. The narration of the movie is Frankie’s assistant telling the story of what kind of man Frankie is to his daughter.

Million Dollar Baby is very well directed and is in keeping with Clint Eastwood’s directorial style.
