This term we have an enthusiastic trio of Year 10 students driving the agenda for Movie Club.

We asked them why they joined this co-curricular club and what they are looking forward to most in Term 3.

Here’s what they had to say:

Mitchell R-Q Year 10

Why I joined Movie Club:

I wanted to explore new types and genres of films. I also enjoy watching movies and learning about their respective universes. Movie Club also caught my attention because I didn’t expect to see something like that available.

What I am most looking forward to about Movie Club in Term 3:

I am looking forward to the horror genre as I have never watched horror movies before.

James B-F Year 10

Why I joined Movie Club:

I chose Movie Club because out of all the numerous options for co-curricular, Movie Club was the most appealing option. I also do TV Production and doing Movie Club allows me to use the knowledge that has been taught to me to better understand films and the work that goes into making them.

What I am most looking forward to about Movie Club in Term 3:

I am most looking forward to broadening the variety of films that I have watched

Liam S Year 10

Why I joined Movie Club:

I joined movie club because I wanted to look at different genres of movies, mostly horror-based movies.

What I am most looking forward to about Movie Club in Term 3:

What I’m most looking forward to this term is watching a variety of different movies.

Under the supervision of Miss Gaspari, the boys spent yesterday afternoon reflecting on last term’s films and debating a genre of focus for Term 3.

The winning genre: Horror!

The boys were also challenged to write a six word review about two films they watched last term —  Train to Busan and I am Legend.

Points for creativity!

Train to Busan:

Zombies through Korea, help in Busan

Follow rules you will thank me

I am Legend:

Global pandemic, Man survives, finds help
